The inaugural Girls Xcup tournament held at Penryn was an overwhelming success with many clubs from across Cornwall entering teams from U13's up to U18's. In the case of Perranporth we only had 2 U15's, Charlie and India, they joined forces with the St Austell girls and immediately made an impact with their ferocious tackling and direct purposeful runs.
The team provided great support from aggresive mauling and strong rucking to allow Charlie to pick up and ship the ball out to the waiting backs.
India was a force to be reckoned with from the crunching tackles in defence and fantastic strong runs down the wing to score numerous tries.
Being slightly biased i feel both Charlie and India were pivotal to their clean sheet of wins, technique, fitness, brains and braun.
The whole team was a delight to watch and the format an all inclusive fast paced skill packed event.
Kudos to Michael Jeffs for keeping these girls going and providing them such a great opportunity to play for such an inspiring bunch of girls.
