The Brewers had a positive grass roots rugby experience at Camelford on Saturday (29th September) by winning 68 – 7

Many of the original Brewers would have been proud of the sight of our players getting changed up in a field! But from the ‘chilly’ changing to a quick warm up & a couple of practice line-outs they ran on the field of play to give an impressive team performance.

Tom Tiffin started the points tally by scoring 3 tries within the first 20 minutes and then went on to score his 4th later in the game. Tom is currently our top try scorer from the first 4 matches.

The Brewers Skipper, James Hicks. Scored two tries from the front row, rampaging around the pitch all game. His performance led him to be named Man of the Match.

Despite picking up a bad injury last week Tom Mc Ritchie bagged 2 tries; And on his final run out with The Brewers Jackson Edwards also scored 2.

Further tries also came from Ben Sowden, Matt Moncaster, Jordan Butts & Toby Thipthorp.

With the squad size allowing for four quality replacements, this was a great TEAM effort, forwards & backs linking with each other, working hard for each other and being brave in defence.

So now to the Quarter Final stages where we will meet Newquay at home at The Droop next Saturday the 6th October.  This match will be a step up for the squad and a tough ask, but we have a very capable squad with home advantage.

Come down to the Droop next week and cheer the lads on!
